HEARTS OF PALM // AISLE GALLERY

Stopped by my buddy Mike's studio/inventor spot for his band Hearts of Palm. Really great stuff; modified electronics line the walls and general psychedelia permeates the atmosphere of this place. Performances are booked out of the gallery space just outside of the studio, I took a pic of some modified sound machines the other night.

Also earlier in the day I took a wander in the woods for a bit and captured this crazy exposure pic of some intense foliage.

Was a good time!

COOLEST TOYS ON EARTH

Stopped in to a hip toy shop in Mason, Ohio called 'The Coolest Toys On Earth'. They sold a WIDE selection of novelty items from games to puzzles to toys to assorted novelties and gags. The best thing they had to sell here was a functioning flying machine (similar to a jetpack) for only $100,000!

This place was packed with crazy shit

TENTATIVE ARTHOUSE

House/cat-sitting for a friend from the 2nd to the 12th. Had my studio equipment moved in and temporarily turned the whole place into an arthouse. Made some crazy anime/eye-rape collages with a friend, as well as in the process of putting together a drone EP from the sessions I have gotten recorded here. Way cool!

Radical!

"MARS"

While looking up the New York 70's No-wave band 'Mars' I stumbled upon a hip-hop artist who calls himself Mars. Did some research, found his history and the reason he has ever gotten media exposure is due to his listeners going out and committing mass murders. His voice is shit, and he somehow makes worse 'horrorcore' than ICP. I find all of this humorous.

From wikipedia:
"Mars (Born Mario Delgado in 1980) is an American rapper from the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2005, he received national attention when fan Jeff Weise frequented Mars’ website and forum before killing nine people."

"In 2009, Mars received attention when it was learned that Mars’ music was an influence on the music of horrorcore fan Richard Sam McCroskey, who allegedly killed four people. McCroskey’s MySpace page listed Mars as his favorite rapper, and Mars told law enforcement he had seen and signed autographs for McCroskey at various events before the murders. From these events, he has been interviewed by several TV news outlets around the United States including CBS News, Fox News, ABC News, and CNN.
Mars releases his music on Mad Insanity Records, including his most recent School House Glock: Extra Credit (2009, EP)"

NEW HEAVEN NEW EARTH, HARDON COLLIDER

Well tonight ended up being pretty awesome. Played a glitch/noise set as Hardon Collider with my buddy Miles in front of a reasonable audience. People really liked what we were doing to boot!

Healing Trapeze (solo set)
We initially had this show booked for our Philidelphia friends "New Heaven, New Earth" for their mini tour they were doing with Montreal avant weirdos Pando (really awesome acoustic noise on a stand up bass and violin).
My pal Miguel playing effed guitar songs about smurf sluts.
The show was hosted at a studio called Northside Zen, this large building on a well popular corner of Cincinnati Northside. The owner is chill, he wants to work with my friend and I about starting to book shows out of this venue space. (I have been waiting forever for such an opportunity!) He also made everyone steak kabobs. Was awesome.
A hissing cicada was flyin around. Was magical.
