I stumbled upon this bizarre basement treasure trove of Christmas VHS material... enough to make an interesting channel! Tune in to whatever happens to be on, http://betamaxmas.com/

If it's coming in with a bit of static, just jiggle the antenna.

Strange Memorial//Plush Tree

So I took a walk to the gas station in between mixing sessions to nab some munchies, and came across this odd tree...

meh, looks ok from a distance

My guess is somebody crashed a car into it and a child was killed, sadly. This tree has some weird mojo going on with it; several dozen stuffed animals are strapped to the trunk. What a peculiar thing to find...

Dark Times at the Unholy Goatclub

On Saturday I traveled with a friend in our hippie van to a satanic pagan ritual/experimental noise performance somewhere on the outskirts of Dayton, Ohio. There was a surprisingly decent turnout of people at this spot, totally ready to party, despite the show taking place in an abandoned shack out in the boondocks of Ohio.

There were actual goats at this Satan shack, too, though none were sacrificed.

Here is a picture of what was traveling in the back of our hippie van...

He's somewhere in yr room right now...
Decked out lighting for the goatvan
...terrifying amirite?

A two person project called Mandible "performed", strapping contact mics (http://i.imgur.com/Io4e4.jpg) to pumpkins and gourds... when they rubbed their hands on the vegetables it made the gnarliest rubber friction sounds. Not really 'musical' in the least but it was very ritualistic. A very tense/eerie quiet desolate atmosphere. They cut into the pumpkin/gourd and stuck the piezo mics into the goop inside. It was gross and sounded like vomit/turds.

There was also a fantastic five piece freak folk band that we managed to have play, and as a unit they had their shit together. Total legit freak rock n roll, this stuff was flawless. Danced like there was no tomorrow! Danced for the unholy goat lord >:3

________

My friend from Chicago, the gentleman behind Unitronics, met up with me at this show (I had him booked to play in Cincy yesterday at my venue space). He brought along a badass video rig, which we projected onto the outside wall of the shack/windows.

In the second pic, the projection is displaying 'video feedback'. Totally warped colors!

Recently I heard about the hot new drinking trend sweeping the nation -- kids soaking gummy bears in vodka, if you can believe it! I got some information tonight, from a friend of a friend who heard it from his cousin, that things are getting WORSE on lollipop lane.

Pic related, it's what kids are putting up their butts
See, there was this one group of kids who read about "rainbow drank" from one of those social networking sites they're always talking about on the news. They tried it out, but it was too easily detectable (their breath smelled like cherries and booze!) -- on a dare, one of them tried putting a gummy in his bottom, which I believe is called "planking." Alcohol absorbs very quickly through the b-hole, and the kid was drunk off his ass (so to speak) in just a few minutes. His parents didn't know what was going on, but became suspicious when they noticed the rainbow streaks in their sons' underwear. Obviously they are very embarrassed and don't know what to do, but something needs to be done! His friends have been throwing what they call "rainbow parties" and it's sick!

Kids these days...
I know you guys are "down with the kids" and was wondering if you people had any ideas. The first step is, alerting the principles of all the local middle and high schools. The next step would be, alerting the local news media, who surely would be interested in this unexpected twist. The final step would be, PROFIT.

TONIGHT!! TIM KAISER // NORTHSIDE ZEN

EXPERIMENTAL/ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC NOISE THROWDOWN!

So I contacted a bunch of people touring through the country and arranged a fun-filled night of experimental mayhem. FUCK IT TAKES SO MUCH PRODDING AND STRING PULLING TO ORGANIZE A SHOW FUCK. Especially when you are one of the bands performing (Hardon Collider gets to perform as a 4-piece tonight for the first time).

I even made a poster for the show! - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNIboAyHn-835DMOop276eg3pPlE1eMrcmN2zispIaBWRMhFYd_Q3Tej5YsR3QePxiuhnUJgnyilcn9RCvhfrECGzZEhH0o9ftxEGIIah9TtIRCheWcPbZQrOJ5ImF8PdcRf5-ED36oxM/s400/Timkaiserposter+COLORr.png

Expecting a sizeable crowd, especially for a harsh noise/psychedelic night (I managed to get the venue in on this monthly gallery walk festival Cincinnati Northside puts on, so people will randomly hear crazy sounds shooting outta the second floor of this place and mayyyybe they'll stop by~

Should be ~80-120 peoples shoved in my small venue at any given time haha

HARDON COLLIDER // Practice Set

My friends and I played a practice set for a homeless person that wandered into my friend's studio space off the street. He can be found at the beginning of the video. Cincy glitch noise, was certainly a good time~

HEARTS OF PALM // AISLE GALLERY

Stopped by my buddy Mike's studio/inventor spot for his band Hearts of Palm. Really great stuff; modified electronics line the walls and general psychedelia permeates the atmosphere of this place. Performances are booked out of the gallery space just outside of the studio, I took a pic of some modified sound machines the other night.

Also earlier in the day I took a wander in the woods for a bit and captured this crazy exposure pic of some intense foliage.

Was a good time!

COOLEST TOYS ON EARTH

Stopped in to a hip toy shop in Mason, Ohio called 'The Coolest Toys On Earth'. They sold a WIDE selection of novelty items from games to puzzles to toys to assorted novelties and gags. The best thing they had to sell here was a functioning flying machine (similar to a jetpack) for only $100,000!

This place was packed with crazy shit

TENTATIVE ARTHOUSE

House/cat-sitting for a friend from the 2nd to the 12th. Had my studio equipment moved in and temporarily turned the whole place into an arthouse. Made some crazy anime/eye-rape collages with a friend, as well as in the process of putting together a drone EP from the sessions I have gotten recorded here. Way cool!

"MARS"

While looking up the New York 70's No-wave band 'Mars' I stumbled upon a hip-hop artist who calls himself Mars. Did some research, found his history and the reason he has ever gotten media exposure is due to his listeners going out and committing mass murders. His voice is shit, and he somehow makes worse 'horrorcore' than ICP. I find all of this humorous.

From wikipedia:
"Mars (Born Mario Delgado in 1980) is an American rapper from the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2005, he received national attention when fan Jeff Weise frequented Mars’ website and forum before killing nine people."

"In 2009, Mars received attention when it was learned that Mars’ music was an influence on the music of horrorcore fan Richard Sam McCroskey, who allegedly killed four people. McCroskey’s MySpace page listed Mars as his favorite rapper, and Mars told law enforcement he had seen and signed autographs for McCroskey at various events before the murders. From these events, he has been interviewed by several TV news outlets around the United States including CBS News, Fox News, ABC News, and CNN.
Mars releases his music on Mad Insanity Records, including his most recent School House Glock: Extra Credit (2009, EP)"

NEW HEAVEN NEW EARTH, HARDON COLLIDER

Well tonight ended up being pretty awesome. Played a glitch/noise set as Hardon Collider with my buddy Miles in front of a reasonable audience. People really liked what we were doing to boot!

Healing Trapeze (solo set)
We initially had this show booked for our Philidelphia friends "New Heaven, New Earth" for their mini tour they were doing with Montreal avant weirdos Pando (really awesome acoustic noise on a stand up bass and violin).
My pal Miguel playing effed guitar songs about smurf sluts.
The show was hosted at a studio called Northside Zen, this large building on a well popular corner of Cincinnati Northside. The owner is chill, he wants to work with my friend and I about starting to book shows out of this venue space. (I have been waiting forever for such an opportunity!) He also made everyone steak kabobs. Was awesome.
A hissing cicada was flyin around. Was magical.

Vincent Collins

This gentleman created some of the most effed psychedelic 70's cartoonery the internet has ever known. If you don't know his work you best get to digging.

A nice sampling of his work.

The propaganda department of the US got a hold of Mr. Collins to get him to make a bicentennial film.

Reinterpretation of Alice in Wonderland. Seriously fucked.

Hmm... haven't updated in a bit, been working on several things. Have some abandoned building plunders.

You Cannot Read Minds, Yes?

So sometimes I have nothing to do for a few hours and am just chilling out minding my own business watching cars go by. During these times of people/car watching I'll have the occasional stranger walk by who will spark up a conversation. Today was no different, except this time it was a Bulgarian pretty-boy hooker trying to get me to turn tricks.

An odd fellow, really long lanky legs. Pretty eyes. He offered me a cig and we got to talking. Things got uncomfortable fast.

Words of wisdom from the Bulgarian male prostitute:
  • "What makes the world go round? Money. I see lots of younger boys around here, this new generation is taking my money. I flaunt my ass harder."
  • "I don't care about the kids, they can die. I was kid too you know? No big deal. Everyone dead."
  • "You cannot read minds, yes?"

Though I couldn't manage to get a pic of this gentleman, here are other pics from the day.

An innocent cat sits.
One of my favorite alleys.

Out of all the license plates in the state of Ohio, I found this one.

Hippie Punk House

So my friend took me to this hippie punk house type dealio today, where people just come and go as they please. Upon entering I was greeted with a dirty man lying on the floor with another man on top of him holding a tattoo gun. He was going over this crap job tattoo the guy had done a few months before.

It wasn't until somebody tried to fix the tattoo that it was apparent somebody snuck a dong doodle into the tat.
This gentleman lives in the woods. I sort of envy such a lifestyle.

Cincinnati Reds vs San Diego Padres

A friend and I scored free tickets to see the Reds play the Padres and I am pretty sure today was the best day to go. The Reds hit seven home runs and kicked the Padres' asses 13-1, all the while a rainbow shines down on the stadium. Good times.

CRASH COURSE IN SCIENCE

So last night I was fortunate enough to see the cult classic band Crash Course in Science blow my head off. They started in 1979 as a female fronted post-punk outfit using nothing but toy electronics and home appliances such as blenders for instrumentation. They seem to have modernized in the past 30+ years though, with some great new synths and a hell of a trippy light and laser show to go with the chaos.

Here is a link of em playing in the 80's, very cool vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VzLOJNzk98

Jungle Jim's

If you are into gigantic multi-cultural supermarkets sprawling with eccentric/creepy things, make a visit out to Jungle Jim's international market. It's just north of Cincinnati. You can purchase bloody sheep heads for a flat rate of around five dollars. If that's not a good enough selling point they also feature an extensive collection of alcohol, cheeses, fish, etc. There is also a monorail encircling the pavilion the market is housed in. It's pretty much an amusement park for food.
